FindTime greyed out when creating new mail in Outlook 2016
When I'm in the Outlook 2016 overview I have an option to "Reply with meeting poll" as expected. However, when I compose a new mail the option is greyed out. When I check for the add-on options I see that FindTime is activated and should work. I added a (Dutch) screenshot to visualize what I mean :).
Here are some tips to help with Gray icons.
a. If you have encryption settings enabled, disable them. Add-ins do not perform well with privacy settings.Run outlook as an administrator. This disables any rogues plugins that is taking over the ribbon.
c. Sometimes other COM plugins such as “Todoist” or “ShareFile” or “SalesForce” interfere with the ribbon. You can disable those to see if add-ins come back.
This is not fixed. We user Newforma and the addin does not allow Findtime to work.
This was happening in our environment and it turned out to be the WinZip Courier COM Add-in conflicting with FindTime. Luckily the user did not have a need for WinZip Courier so we could disable it.
this is reproducible on my machine. we have WinZip Courier Version 6.5.11568

If you are a MS 365 user, you can still use FindTime via webmail. Not a perfect solution, but it works

Looks like the Mimecast add-in for Outlook also causes this problem
If this issue is happening to you because of other COM/VSTO plugins please consider up voting this piece of feedback on the Office developer forum.
Disabling S/MIME signature worked for me too.
I have the same issue. Here is a trick i found myself and it works for me:
Save that new mail with findtime option in gray (Ctrl+S) and then close it. Then go to the "draft" folder and select your mail again. There you go! you can see the option is now working on the message ribbon. If you double click the new mail, then it will be opened in a new wondow but still the findtime is active on the ribbon.
Hope this helps for you as well.
This appears to be a garbage product. I have the same issue and I don't have any "ROGUE plugin's, whatever that is supposed to mean. I sent a support ticket and they said they are busy working on the next big thing for FindTime. and have ceased responding to feedback for now. How about you fix it then worry about the next big thing!

It still isn't working for me on New messages even with the addons turned off.

Disabling the "Azure Information Protection" COM add-in did the trick for me.

We have seen the exact same problem. I will add "ToutApp" to the list of "Rogue plug-ins". To be clear, all non-VSTO add-ins are disabled by certain (many?) popular plug-ins and this is a serious problem. I would think that Microsoft would play a more active role in dealing with this issue since they are trying to push ISVs to adopt the add-in model. I am an ISV and we developed both an add-in and plug-in. We will now consider removing our add-in from the Microsoft store and only make our plug-in available for download from our site. What a shame. We really liked the add-in model but if Microsoft will allow their partners (e.g. Salesforce.com) to write plugins that disable them, then we cannot endorse Microsoft's direction and we'll fall back to VSTO. Come on, Microsoft, please show some leadership here and fix this problem.

What does it mean to be a "rogue plugin" that "takes over the ribbon"? I had to disable both Todoist and ShareFile to get FindTime working for new meeting polls yet no other plugin has had this issue.
Is there a solution to this problem yet? I would like to be able to use Sharefile and FindTime.
Disabling S/MIME for me worked.
This is of course a problem, as in general I want S/MIME!
I have a similar issue. I tried running as administrator, to no avail; I do not have any of the addins mentioned as problems, either.
Your answer here seems to be the solution. When I disable my ShareFile plugin, the FindTime plugin works. The only problem is we are a Citrix partner and heavily use ShareFile. I would greatly love to use the FindTime plugin as well as the product looks like a great way to save time when scheduling meetings with our clients.
When will there be a solution to allow both plugins to work?

Reasons why your "New meeting poll" icon can be grayed out are -
a. If you have encryption settings enabled, then try and disable them to see the add-in.
b. Run outlook as an administrator to disable rogue add-ins.
c. Sometimes other COM plugins such as "Todoist" or "ShareFile" interfere with the ribbon. You can disable them to see if it work
Let us know if any of these work so that others can use the information.
I am having this same issue. It works find if I reply to another email, but is grayed out for new emails.
